I haven't seen the material but the sequence proposed seems good. I just include working with vocabulary as well as writing once they finish reading. It means create a link between the story and the students in a creative way.
We are making a big effort to put students first, including language. I teach students with reading disabilities.
I have not seen the material yet. If the lessons are as advertised they should be a great help as I teach reading disabled middle school students.
