will explain that many stories have more than one problem and that usually the problems are related. I will chart all the problems in The Story of Noodles and discuss how they are all related. (Direct Teaching Teacher Example Chart is provided below in Teacher and Student Materials.) I will explain that all the problems in The Story of Noodles are centered on the three boys and their playfulness with food.

Think Check
Ask: How did I determine how the problems in the story were related? Students should respond that you read the story and charted all the problems in the story. Then, you reread the problems and thought about what they were all related to.

I give "Big KUDDOS" to the author of this lesson plan. It is well- prepared and supported with excellent resources. It has given me good ideas on how to do this difficult concept for children to process.
Thank you so much for sharing it!!
