This website is totally amazing. Now, I'm relieved my son will have access to great reading material
Since I have discovered ths site, I have gone crazy putting lessons together and utilizing as much of the reading passages to aid in covering topics and common core strategies that I can. I love this site and will continue to share what I have found here- a pot of gold for any educator!
I totally agree! I wish I had discovered this at the beginning of the year. We used to use the Treasures Curriculum as a school district, but through various teacher changes, I no longer have a complete curriculum and it isn't really aligned well to the CCSS. So, still a relatively new teacher, I am forced to make up my own. With an extremely challenging class this year, It's hard to do that. I am so grateful for these lessons for helping me to keep focused and guiding me in teaching the CCSS effectively. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I have used many/most of the second grade units to make sure I cover the Common Core. Some of the 'orginal books' in the units are hard to find but the alternative book lists are very helpful. The children love the read-alouds and I use the passages at centers or for homework. The units can be broken down to do mini-lessons and extended for two weeks, too.
This is a great site that I have shared with everyone in my building. I have seen many papers from readworks.org in the copy room!!
Thank you for a free site where educators can easily find what they need. I love the binder feature so I can save what I like w/o having to do a new search each time.
